A beautiful hand made, large natural dye bag. Woven on a backstrap loom in Chinchero, Peru. The design is traditional to the village of Chinchero.
Dyes used - conchineal insect for red, and a mix of tara (bean like pod) and colpa (local form of iron sulphate) for blue, ch'illca a leafy plant for greens, lichen for orange, kiko flowers from Peruvian pepper tree for yellow, and lemon salt is added to conchineal to produce purples.
Cotton and alpaca blend. Zip fasten on top of bag and lined with an extra pocket inside also with zip.
